Single-Parent Families versus Nuclear Families Once in society, it was absurd not to have both parents take care of their children. Parenting, it is a piece of life many people grow up with, and the way it is done keeps changing over time. In today’s society, the two most popular trends in families follow, still, the nuclear family, but now, also the single-parent family dynamic. The single-parent home and nuclear family may seem like they are quite similar, but they do have their differences. Single-parent homes and the nuclear family have differences: financially, affectionately, and just living in general. Financially, single parents have to maintain a steady job in order to support the family. Unlike nuclear families, single parents†¦show more content†¦For example, if one does not have a good job, whether it is low pay or long shifts, and the other parent has the same issue, or is unemployed, they may also feel the same problems as the single parents. The benefit of a nuclear family is that if that something does happen like an emergency, there is another person with them to equal out the work. Single-parent families may display affection differently than the nuclear family. For example, since there is only one parent, the parent may spend more time with the child and have quality time together. There can a time of bonding from just parent to child, but if the parent is busy, the time to display affection may be more difficult to find. Also, some parents do not show affection as often as others, and when only one is in the family, the parent may only express certain types of affection like asking how their children’s day were but can not make it to their sporting events. Unlike single-parent families, nuclear families can display affection easier as a family. Children have two different sources to go to for affection, and each parent may show it in different ways. Since different people express affection in different ways, the nuclear family has more of a variety of affection like maybe the mother always gives out hugs and asks how their day was, while the father may drive them to school or play around with them. Socialization is a life process by which children and adults learn from each other. It is divided into two parts which are primary and secondary socialization. Primary socialization takes place early in life, as a child and adolescent. The secondary socialization is when socialization takes place throughout one s life, both as a child and as one encounters new groups that require additional socialization.The moment we are born, we are separated by our gender and taught the gender’s role. In many social constructs, gender is closely observed and reinforced by society. Society assigns a gender the type of toys to play with and the type of clothing to wear. Through a merger of social conditioning and personal interest by the age of three most children favor activities and display behaviors typically related to their sex. As a result, fitting into social gender roles and expectations is very important in society. For my project on socialization I picked to observe the roles of ge nder toys and clothing. In addition to this, developing and the third world countries are also benefitted by the globalization processes of trade and technology. Furthermore, globalization is also considered as a worldwide phenomenon that is increasing with every decade. Developed countries are considered as role models for the developing countries and the third world countries in setting goals and developing technologies. At the same time, it also helps in becoming more familiar with other societies. Moreover, it helps in accomplishing tasks much faster, cheaper and easier. It increases the number of opportunities and reduces different business barriers. Globalization can be thought as the engine of economic prosperity and trade. It also helps in procuring desired products from across the globe such as procuring cheaper consumer goods from India, Japan and many other parts of the world. Globalization helped us to cover a huge distance on the globe within the span of few hours and meet with our dear ones. As a medium, globalization touches almost every aspect of someones life in a civilized world. Globalization provides opportunities to explore and enrich myself with newer technologies and inventions in every field. Globalization can be thought as a dynamic perception having a universal scope. The people who do not spend too much time to understand the concept of globalization are also affected by the effects of globalization. As a student of ICT, it helps me to know about the recent developments in a particular specific field. This, in turn, helps in the availability of much more consumer goods in the market for users across the world. It also helps in mobility and removal of barriers at an international level. Hence it helps in opening new opportunities for young people at national as well as international levels. It was made of glass and provided a higher bandwidth and signal capacity. This enabled users to send much more data packets (more information) compared to other transmission mediums. In the 1990s the most important invention that helped in the globalization of business was the use of workflow software. Mobile, Virtual and Personal Movement In the recent time, it is observed that use of digital cameras, PDAs(personal digital assistant), cell phones and personal laptops have affected the globalization process. Use of instant messaging services has enabled organizations to communicate with customers or employees of the organization. In addition to that, employees can use their laptops or PDAs to connect with company or customer via VoIP and address their query.
